Thanks. I'm really trying to play fair here, if I thought the Nisim products weren't making a difference, I would definitely say so- I don't want to mislead anyone!
I noticed I forgot to finish this statement in my last post:
"I really want to emphasize to anyone reading this that the results I have gotten are *very* slow coming. Keep in mind that I had felt for some time that I was simply losing hair faster than I could regrow. I have yet to determine how truly effective all of the products are with me, but I seriously doubt...."
Sorry! I try to keep my posts organized, I guess I forgot to finish that sentence. I was in a hurry and trying to finish up my post. Must have gotten sidetracked on another thought. To pick up from there:
I have yet to determine how truly effective all of the products are with me, but I seriously doubt that the minoxidyl is making this much difference. 10 years ago I took Minoxidyl (and only that) and didn't have anywhere near this feeling of success. This was 10 years ago, when I had more hair to work with.
Right now I feel that that doing all of this has given me some years back. There is still a lot of time left (Nisim takes up to 18 months). If I can get even more hair back, that would be awesome. But I am already pleased with the progress and would be fine if I could maintain the amount of hair I have now... but I will march forward and see what happens!

Following my last post above, there were 2-3 days where I felt like there wasn't much progress anywhere. It's funny that these periods come and go where you kinda get a little bummed out thinking nothing's happening, then you notice more progress.
On my right temple (the one most receded), the area is starting to get more dense and growth appears to be going towards the center of my slight "witches peak"; again, it pretty much appears to be filling back towards where the thinning began.
I have also noticed that my hair in general is growing a bit faster now- a LOT closer to when I was a teen (my hair grew really fast, then started slowing down quite a bit in my mid-20s). Even more interesting is that ALL of the hair seems to be growing at the same rate. Before any of these treatments my sides would grow considerably faster than the hair on top.
I love this product so much, just wished I'd have known of it sooner :-)

Glad to here it is working for you again. Due to the proteins and amino acids in the shampoo all of your hair will grow faster. We have actually developed a shampoo called FAST to make hair grow faster.
This post has been made by one of several customer service reps at Nisim International. We do our best to answer your questions quickly and honestly. If you wish to reach us in private send an email to info@nisim.com

Hi Admin, yeah I had considered using FAST at one point. I realize that the regular shampoo is not specifically geared towards hair growth, but it seems to be returning my hair growth rate to when I was a teenager (it now grows faster and *all* of it seems to be growing more uniformly again). Amazing!
In my earlier posts I mentioned problems with dandruff. This has gradually become less and less of a problem. Throughout the time I've started I've been really, really good about scrubbing my hair with the shampoo, letting it sit and then and thoroughly rinsing (doing all of this at least twice in the shower every day). I believe this was a process of the dormant skin on my scalp breaking up and giving way to healthier skin. I still get tiny bits here and there, but it has improved considerably.
Before using Nisim (and, to a probable lesser degree, Minoxidyl) I could look at my hairline in the mirror and literally see the outline of my head through the hair I had. Being so close to the bathroom's lights, I could basically see how bad my hair loss was becoming. I'm finding it really hard to do that now. I might be able to see back about an inch or two, but that's it. There's a lot more shafts of hair coming in. Some are my "regular" hairs, and then there are the shorter, thicker dark shafts, the small white vellus hairs, and some curly bits inbetween.
As my hair loss was progressing I found myself having to have my hair cut short to look decent. If it got past 3-4 inches long it just looked terrible. I would end up doing "the comb-over" which never worked well, also having to rely on lots of hairspray & gel to try and keep the hair looking styled. I'm now letting my hair grow longer because I'm finding I'm able to do so without it looking that bad at all! I get out of shower, towel dry hair a few times, then apply extract gel, brush hair, *gently* blow dry (holding hair dryer at a far distance), then use some of the Nisim hair conditioner.
I've gotten a lot of nice compliments on my hair. It has a lot more body and thickness than a year ago. I occasionally find myself running my fingers through my hair, sometimes I can't believe how thick it's become in some spots. The only drawback with having longer hair is it seems a little bit harder to apply the extract gel, but it's nothing I can't handle.
About a week after my last post I did have what seemed like another setback, where for a few days the areas of loss seemed to not look so great, then things look fine a few days later. It's just weird! I have read similar posts that mention this.
Again, this process is very gradual! But the shampoo & extract have been worth every penny and I have no plans on changing anytime soon. Also the spray conditioner is awesome, even if I didn't have concerns with hair loss I'd use it (and the shampoo & extract as well, they're great for styling).

Thanks Joost, I am hoping to at least post once a month or so. It's for several reasons: to share my results with others going through the same thing, to let Nisim get product feedback, and it's for my benefit as well.
One very important thing that after using Nisim I have slowly come to the realization is that my hair is not as oily after a night's sleep. Even when I was a teenager, I was always fighting with oily hair. I had long hair and I took care of it, but after a night's sleep I would wake up with pretty bad bedhead and that itchy, oily "I need a shower feeling". Well I wake up now and my hair isn't going in 10 different directions, and it's nowhere near as oily (I still get my butt into the shower quickly though- I don't wanna take any chances. LOL).
For years before Nisim, I used to use a lot of assorted shampoos and conditioners and would often switch between different brands every few days to try and keep that clean, rejuvenated feeling and keep the oiliness of my hair down. I bought dozens upon dozens of different brands, and let me tell you, it amazes me the amount of crap that some shampoos have. Just because the FDA allows a product to be sold as a shampoo and you can find it in a store doesn't mean it's good for your hair. A lot of them smelled good with different fragrances and such, but there were a lot of irritants- stuff that just doesn't feel good when you put it on your hair. I can't tell you what they are because they have names that are usually 100 words long.
I don't feel that shampoos/conditioners caused my hair to thin, but I DO think they compounded an already existing problem by irritating the scalp. To make matters worse after showering I would use different gels/hairspray to try and keep my hair in order, and I think they may have accelerated an already bad thing because almost all of them contained alcohol. I think the alcohol-based products tend to both trap & amplify heat from your head as well as heat coming onto it such as from the outdoor sun. I also think the alcohol and other ingredients that clog the pore make it much harder for the scalp to breathe, and that's where the sweating begins. Even worse, my hair would look considerably thinner with any kind of alcohol on it.
What ultimately led me to look into Nisim was during last summer when I was still trying to find the right shampoo. I would work out in the yard, and I'm seriously sweating on the back of my head underneath my already thinning hair- I had never sweat there before, and it just was not a good sign. I remembered how my temples would produce the same sweat several years before, and that is when then they started to recede, so I decided I would try Minoxidyl again, but also look into other methods.

Or maybe it's not alcohol (I guess Nisim has some, and I have been using the Minoxidyl which I think has it). *Shrug* I don't know, maybe a lot of the shampoos have a commonly used oil or something that was making matters worse.

HairFarmer,
I have very similar situation to you where I'm mostly losing hair at crown and a little bit at the temples. My right side is receding a little more than the left too! haha.
anyway, i was wondering how often you used minoxidil, and do you use it before or after the extract? Thanks

Hi Samson,
Similar loss of hair, hmm, maybe we were separated at birth? Hah!
After showering with the Nisim shampoo I towel-dry my hair well and use the Nisim gel extract. I don't use the Minox in the AM before work because its greasiness can actually work against that (also that greasiness can make thinning hair look even worse, though as mine is filling in it does not look as bad after applying now).
So I apply the minox first thing when I get home from work, can be 6PM or so. I apply the gel extract an hour or two later, then I use the minox again about 1/2 hour before I go to bed. I have found the best way to apply the minox is to put drops on the worst spots and then roll your head around without touching it. The minox moves around quite a bit this way and this minimizes the greasiness since it stays on your scalp and not in your hair if you used your fingertips.
For what it's worth you can buy 6 month supplies of Kirkland minox for around $30 on Amazon- that is what I'm using. I believe it's made by the same company that makes Rogaine, it's just branded differently.
But I will also say in the past few weeks I've missed a few minox applications. I had two days where I did not apply any, and after recalling reading a few horrow stories where any grown hair would fall out after missing two days, it didn't. I resumed application and everything's fine (I don't miss the Nisim extract applications, ever). And again, if I had to choose between Nisim and the minox, the minox would lose everytime.
Only other thing that I am doing differently now is drinking lots of 100% organic Green Tea (Bigelow's, very reasonable price). I read that Green Tea is good because it increases blood flow, and I can literally feel my scalp tingle within 20 mins of drinking a hot cup- not kidding!

Thanks for the quick reply.
Btw, are you experiencing any hair shedding in the shower? Right now, I'm only using nisim shampoo and extract. when i shampoo, i always notice about 10-20 strands of hair falling out when i pull my hands away from shampooing.
Not sure if nisim is helping to prevent any further hair loss. i think using nisim together with minoxidil will be my last resort. otherwise, probably have to shave head. i pretty much have a full head of hair now, but my bald spot is getting more noticeable by the months.
