Hi everyone,
My hair was thinning quite a bit. Had to keep brushing hair in different directions trying to deal with the problem. Most of the thinning is on the crown. Areas around the temporal lobes had receded a bit. So I started this:
A little over 1 month ago I began using 5% Minoxidyl (2x a day).
The Nisim shampoo I've been using for about 3.5 weeks (1x a day, washing as recommended 2-3 times).
I have been using the Hair And Scalp Extract for about a week now (2x a day).
I'm not expecting stellar results just yet, but I will say this:
My hair's already feeling thicker on top (on the very top, not the crown) than it's felt in years. Already I can part my hair down the middle, which is something I couldn't do for a long time. In that area, it's definitely the darkest/thickest I've seen for the areas that were thinning.
Now mind you, I've still got areas on the crown and lobes to deal with, but they just don't seem as thin. The crown has begun to somewhat fill in, I notice the hair seems to grow in a pattern towards the "eye of the storm".
I have periods of itching where it amusingly feels like hair is growing. This isn't an irritation, just a slight itch.
The shampoo is great. Even if I didn't have thinning hair I'd keep using it. I have hard water and nothing cleans the hair like the shampoo does.
I've had some (I've seen less than say, 20) tiny dark hairs shed but I'm not in a state of panic. I used to lose lots of hair in the shower and sink, and I'm just not seeing as much of that anymore.
I realize a lot of the immediate growth could be attributed to the minoxidyl. I know it takes time for the Extract to kick in, but several years ago I took Minoxidyl alone, and had hair regrowth but not feeling so thick. So I think the shampoo is definitely kicking in.
I will keep you posted of my progress.

Hi Admin, thanks for the kind reply. Prior to using any Nisim product I had read many of your helpful posts you had made, and that influenced my decision to give the shampoo a try. I have been meaning to get back and post my results here, there is a lot to cover so I am going to break them up in parts....
The Products
First, a little clarification. In my earlier post I had some estimates on how long I'd been using the product. Because of the good results I have already had, I thought it best to go back to my Amazon purchased items list to better determine when I started using the product. In the beginning I was skeptical of the product and I didn't see much point in keeping track. If my start dates are at all off now, they would only be off by a day or so, so that's probably not going to affect my results.
Again, here is everything I'm using for fighting hair loss, and how long I have been using it:
***Minoxidyl for 2.5 months (2x a day) Started 10/15/07
***Nisim Shampoo for Normal to Dry hair for 2 months (1x a day, rinse and repeat 2-3 times each day) Started 10/31/07
***Nisim Hair & Scalp Extract Original Formulation for a little over 1.5 months now (2x a day) Started 11/13/07
I am being good about using these regularly. I think I've only missed one or two applications of the Minoxidyl & the Extract (usually if I was out on a business meeting and came home tired).
I have already ordered more of the Shampoo & Extract and Minoxidyl. The only change I made was this time I ordered the Extract gel instead of the drops. I don't mind the drops, but as my hair is getting thicker, it's becoming slightly more difficult to apply. I will also begin using the Nisim Conditioner. I *may* try taking Saw Palmetto in addition to everything above to see if there is any added benefit.

My Experiences
I flaked out. Seriously, I had a lot of dandruff. I think it was the "Shock to the System" the shampoo makes that I'd read about. I will tell you, nothing had ever invigorated my scalp like that. I would take a shower in the next morning, and it was the most peculiar sensation. Remember that Herbal Essences commercial where that lady starts amusingly moaning when she uses the shampoo? I wasn't far from that- sounds goofy, but I'm being very serious here. I think the shampoo was doing a LOT to invigorate the dead zone known as my scalp. I still have some flakes here and there, but honestly I'm willing to deal with it. If it means continually breaking up dead skin to encourage growth of new hair, I can sure live with it. I can brush out a few flakes faster than wait for new hair to grow.
For a while I was using Minoxidyl in the AM before I went to work, but there were some complications with that. One being that it made my hair look oily/greasy to where it looked like I needed a shower... which kinda sucks when you're already taking them. Another problem was that the amount of alcohol in the minoxidyl actually tended to make my balding on the crown appear even worse. The hair that was there got grouped together in a few greasy strands, and it just looked nasty. Because I have more hair coming in the crown now, this is less of a problem, but I did shift my application times for Minoxidyl to later in the day to counter this.
There were times that the itching/growing sensation caused by the Extract was a minor annoyance. Yet it was kinda cool at the same time to know that hairs were growing through the scalp (I never had that feeling with the minoxidyl). I don't have the sensation of hair growing through the scalp nearly as strong now. I'm thinking there was a strong first wave of hair growing through the scalp, or I've just gotten more accustomed to the sensation.
Looking at the top of my scalp and temples closely, I can clearly see that thick, dark hair shafts have started to appear and help fill in the lighter spots. At first I only noticed a few dark ones a few weeks ago. Now I am seeing more, at least twice as much. There are still some soft, light vellus hairs along my temples (very common with Minoxidyl), but there are new dark hairs that range from tiny to almost the same length as my existing hair coming through as well.
Looking at my crown is probably the most dramatic. It already has filled in much better. You can't see the outline of my cranium showing through thin hair anymore. The regrowth really does seem to work the exact opposite direction, starting at the outermost area of thinning and then working it's way back in. My thinning area has shrunk significantly.
I do still lose a few hairs here and there. While I do feel that the hair is thicker, sometimes there's a day or two where I feel like I'm shedding a bit and taking a few steps backwards. As others have reported it seems pretty normal par for the course. I'm not too worried because I have to clean my own shower, sink and brushes, and there is nowhere near the amount of hairs that used to be there. I can only attribute that to the shampoo coming through.
A nice side effect is, my hair is a lot more manageable now. Yes, I spend more time applying everything, but I also save a lot of time not having to keep thinning hair combed down.
I also don't get "bed head" as much either, it's nowhere near as bad!
This is by all accounts a slow, day by day process. Of course everyone would love to have results in a few weeks, but you have to be patient and stick with it. It appears I'm having pretty good results in a quicker time than what's common- hey I'm not complaining. But I also still have a ways to go, I'm going to give it the full 18 months and I will keep you posted...

Some additional info:
I was a bit puzzled because I was seeing results early on, but no one else had really seem to notice anything. I kept in mind that no one knows how I look as much as I do, and although I'd seen progress early on, it would probably take more time for others to notice... it didn't take long.
I went to my parents for Thanksgiving. Because it was still so early no one noticed at that point, but I will tell you that I had better confidence about my appearance, and that was well worth it in itself. That was to change in a few weeks.
Later, one employee said he liked my haircut and actually asked if I'd had "plugs" done.
Anther employee who is regional and hadn't seen me for a month asked another employee if I'd had some kind of hair restoration done.
A few weeks before Christmas I had lunch with my mother who said she thought my hair looks thicker.
At the company Christmas party, my boss's spouse came up to tell me she really liked my haircut (for the 2nd time) and asked who was doing it.
At Christmas, one cousin of mine said to me "I really like your haircut".
..The haircut thing is funny because I have been going to same barbershop for the past 7-8 months and getting the same haircut much longer than that. I get the same hair cut and style every time, 2 inches on sides, 3 on top. The added growth and stronger hair shafts do make styling my hair a lot easier to do.
Another very important thing is that hair loss is very psychological. I admit I've had a lot more confidence in myself- if that makes me somehow vain, bah, so be it. I don't know how else to say this, but I'm a single guy and I'm getting a lot more smiles and approaches from ladies... there is no other reason for this! Who wouldn't like that!

Seems I've posted a lot! I just want to say that I really HATE testimonials, especially when it comes to products promising the reduction of hair loss. I, like many people am skeptical, for good reason. I have *never* given anywhere near the amount of feedback for any other commercial product whatsoever... most testimonials are cheesy, seem kind of fake and hard to believe. I am, however, quite impressed with the results I've gotten with Nisim, I'm sure not going to stop using the shampoo anytime soon. I will work towards giving it the full 18 months and, we'll see what happens. I will keep posting my results.
Thank you Admin for doing the great job and thank you to everyone who has posted their own experiences here, it helped inspire me to try and see what I could do for myself.

Thank you for the update. It could be the minox or just the shampoo at this point

I can't say for sure! Because at one time I'd been on Minoxidyl by itself before I am willing to bet it's the shampoo making the most difference this time, but I don't know. I know the minoxidyl never created the "crawling" feeling and the thick/dark shaft hair growth before, it was mostly some thin dark hairs that never really grew long and a lot of the soft blonde hairs (my hair is more brunette). If I could only choose one product I could use for hair loss it would *definitely* be the shampoo.
I did get the spray conditioner. My hair has already been a lot more manageable with the shampoo, but the conditioner does really help with styling and overall appearance. I've only used it for 1 work day and a girl at the office said my hair looked really nice & soft.
On a side note: My mother had radiation treatment & chemotherapy for breast cancer a year ago, which led to full hair loss. Her hair has grown back now although she mentioned having some trouble spots where there's some hair loss. I think she was somewhat skeptical at first. Then she saw a relative comment how much she liked my hair cut (again, it's the same ol' haircut I've had for a long time) at Christmas and I think that made her reconsider. I ordered her a bottle of the shampoo and gave her a walk through on how to use it. I'll probably not be able to get her to post here, but I will share her progress as well.

***Minoxidyl for 2.5 months (2x a day) Started 10/15/07 = over 3 months now
***Nisim Shampoo for Normal to Dry hair for 2 months (1x a day, rinse and repeat 2-3 times each day) Started 10/31/07 = almost 3 months
***Nisim Hair & Scalp Extract Original Formulation for a little over 1.5 months now (2x a day) Started 11/13/07 = over 2 months now
Note that on the Extract I have now switched to the gel. It didn't take long for me to realize I prefer the gel over the regular drops.
I have also started using the spray conditioner, I really like using it, it allows a lot of control for styling hair.
Well it's really bizzare how this works. I go through periods where I get to feeling that I'm not noticing any progress for 2-3 days, then things seem to show progress. I have not have the "crawling" feeling much, only very mildly, but my hair looks significantly better than it did the last post I made here.
The thinning at the crown on my head has improved. I still have a way to go yet. But when I turn my head to the side and look into mirror (I have two facing each other) I cannot see my scalp so easily. Just 6 months ago I could see it, it looked pretty bad. I would spend several minutes trying to control the thinning hair over what was becoming a bald spot with gel or hair spray, and if I used too much of it, it would actually make everything look worse and I would end up drying the hair out and trying again. Now it's a matter of seconds. I have more hair to comb, and it's not like trying to brush a crow's nest.
My receding hairline has been _slowly_ filling in. I cannot emphasize _slowly_ enough. One of my temples had receded a bit more than the other. On the side that is less receded, it has not filled in completely, but seems well on its way. On the side that is more receded I have new hairs coming up, some black thick shaft hairs and some soft white fuzz. It has filled in somewhat, but still has a way to go.
I really want to emphasize to anyone reading this that the results I have gotten are *very* slow coming. Keep in mind that I had felt for some time that I was simply losing hair faster than I could regrow. I have yet to determine how truly effective all of the products are with me, but I seriously doubt
I do go through times where I'm tired of applying the Minoxidyl and Extract both 2x a day. I have gotten somewhat efficient at it, but it takes time. I have to remind myself that I don't need to spend near the amount of time styling my hair so it's a tradeoff I guess.
I'm already starting to style my hair in ways I haven't been able to do in years. I have read previous forum posts that you should really only expect results to be as good as your hair was 5 years ago, but I'm not sure. Progress doesn't seem to be quite as rapid as it initially was; if things are slowing down, I can accept it. I'm 33 years old. If this is as good as it is going to get for me, I can live with it. I feel like my hair is already better, it's definitely more in line with what someone my age would normally have. I don't expect to have the same thick hair I did when I was 16, but I will keep taking all this to see what happens.
Finally, I mentioned earlier that I got my mom started on the shampoo. After she used it for about a week and a half, she called to tell me she think it's working already by adding thickness to the hair she currently has. I was VERY skeptical but have to admit when I visited her later that week I noticed her hair did look a lot thicker. She said she had gotten many complements on her hair at work and that she would buy Nisim again.... now she has my father using it.
Best wishes,
Hairfarmer
